Italian Festival

Mike and I headed to the Italian festival on the weekend. It was filled with great food! I thought it would cool down later so I wore something a bit warmer but it didn't end up cooling off and I was quite hot! We got this dessert and I have no idea what it is called. If anyone knows let me know .It was good but way to big and rich to finish! The weekend was continued with girl time at the bars and getting somersby cider which was soo delicious.  We went swimming at 3 am and talked all night. I also found out my placement for school. I will be doing my clinical in the oncology unit. I hope I fit in well an that clinical goes well this term. That is pretty much an update on what has been going on with me. This week I will be getting ready and organized for school and seeing some friends before they head off to school. I also hope to squeeze in a drive-in movie :) Hope everyone had a fantastic day!

Little black dress

Mike and I went out for dinner to celebrate the fact that I could eat solid food again! We went to a place called Spageddy eddi'es. You have to walk down an alley to get to it and it is very hidden! When you walk inside you feel like you went back in time and also feel like you are in someones casibo or house who has way too many collectibles! It is very neat. They have boots hanging from the ceiling and random license plates and weird nick knacks!It was great and what was even better is the fact that you get so much pasta! I got like a mixing bowl full of fettuccine Alfredo. I could not even get close to finishing it. The price is cheap too so that was another plus. I';m not gonna lie though it wasn't amazing quality pasta but for quantity it was worth the money! I was also very over dressed but I like getting all dressed up and I love the cut-outs on this dress. It was raining outside so we had to take these photos in my bedroom. 

The next day, Mike and I went for a bike ride. We decided on going to the farmers market that is a couple km away from my house. On the way to the market we accidently took a wrong turn and ended up in another small town but not too far from my house. It was however, still an exhausting detour. We eventually made it to the market and although I had my basket, it was hard bringing back the corn and beans we bought! For a break, we bought cheese curds and ate them on the side of the road. What is with cheese curds? I swear they are so amazing and addictive!! I now leave you with some staged bike riding shots and a photo that Mike didn't know I was taking! Every year in London we have a chalk festival called Imadon. This is my first year being able to attend because previous years at this time I was at my cottage. I am really glad I got to go.The talent was just incredible and my friend Megan has been participating in it for quite a bit so it was nice to see her piece in person. So much time and effort was put into these pieces and I just could not believe the detail in them. These pictures are the ones that were my favorite.

This is the outfit I wore to the chalk festival. We took photos at the market,. It was kind of a muggy day but since it rained I though it would cool down. It didn't really cool down and I was quite hot in my pants! My bangs were being all funky too so don't mind me hair. I never would have thought that I would wear printed denim but these floral jeans won me over. Oh and you also can excuse the fact that my bra is showing but hey its black and I waaass in direct sunlight. When looking at these photos I wish I could re-live this past weekend. I am currently in bed with my face swollen like crazy and only drinking milk products and oatmeal.....fun! I really wish I did not have to get my wisdom teeth but I know it will be for the better. I cannot wait until my face is normal and I can show myself in public and perhaps eat something that doesn't contain oats or milk. Life Lately

Well I haven;t blogged in a while because I had no camera to take photos with! A new outfit post is on its way I promise !:) Tomorrow I get my wisdom teeth out :( . I'm nervous but at the same time I just want it to be over with. Since I will be inside for a couple days recovering, I wanted to make the most out of my long weekend. On Friday, I went to a roof top movie downtown. It was so cool to be on top of a building outside in a parking lot to watch a movie. The movie was no strings attached and they are doing Ferris Bueller for the next one so if you are in the London area it is definitely worth the time to go considering its free and fun! We also went out to eat at The Works and it was soo good, I got a poutine that had Quebec cheese curds in it and Mike got a burger. There were so many crazy options for burgers that you could never get bored of this restaurant ( I personally want to try the burger that has mac n cheese on it next time), not to mention cool decorating inside that made it look like a factory. The light bulb shalt shakers and using measuring cups as cups were the best!On Saturday I went to the beach which was really great because it was the perfect day for it. Mike and I just relaxed and walked around the little shops and ate at this cute 50s style diner. We had malt shakes that were soo delicious. On Sunday, we headed down to the Ribfest but did not get any ribs because we were too cheap but I did get nail polish for a dollar and we did get to look around at some of the tents. That was my busy but very fun weekend! I had all my favourite foods so that I didn't crave them this week when all I can eat is yogurt and applesauce ( who am I kidding I am going to miss all of them!). I hope everyone else had a fantastic long weekend!

This outfit was quite cheap, which I love. There is nothing quite like getting a whole outfit for say under 30 dollars. The shirt was 14, shorts were 5, shoes were 6, necklace was a gift, and sunglasses were a 1.50. I wore this outfit to the home county folk festival. It is a festival with folk music, food and vendors selling very pretty ( and expensive!) art and jewelry. It was a fun time and for once I was able to listen to the performances ( lately when Mike and I go to festivals we don't stay too long because it has been so hot out and we don't want to waste money on drinks). This time we were smart and brought drinks with us :). The shoes that I wore are my most comfortable pair I own which makes them perfect for festivals. I call them my granny shoes :). Since summer is going very quickly I decided to make a list of things I wanted to do before it ends. It includes:
-have campfire with mike ( done once)
-rooftop screening of a movie at citiplaza
 ( roof top screening?! so excited. If you are in the london area check it out!)
-drive-in ( done 2X)
-blueberry picking
-beach (done 3X)
-ride bike more often!
-casino slots!
-beer festival
-paint pictures with mike and then swap them :)
-go out for breakfast

I am off to see a concert with my friend Tamara tomorrow! We are going to see Beirut. Although I have not been listening for them too long, I do quite enjoy their music and the concert will be so fun:).
These photos were taken when Mike and I had a beach day! We had fun jumping waves and because I am too scared to go deep in the water we stayed close to shore but the waves were still fairly big! My hair got really dry from the water and thus looks fairly messy in these pics, but I did get around to dying it! It isn't that noticeable but I did get rid of my roots and in the light it has a reddish colour to it :) After the beach we were tired and since it was a hot day we opted to take pictures inside where the a/c was! Well I hope everyone is having a nice week so far :)

With course selection for school coming up, I can't help but feel overwhelmed. Second year of nursing is apparently the hardest and I am so nervous just thinking about it. I get to take one elective and the one I wanted to take is a full so now I have to choose another and it looks like I don't have to many options. I feel so unmotivated to even think about school let alone pick my courses and get all the requirements for school. I feel like everything is moving so fast around me and I am just standing still. I also feel like I always waste my summer and I try to jam pack it with things to do. It's funny because sometimes I feel like I have wasted my summer but then I look back and in reality I did a lot. I hope I can look back on

this summer and feel the same way. 

These pictures were taken after work. I forgot to bring shoes that would match this dress so I went barefoot while taking the photos. I love the colour of the dress and the sailboat print is just so cute. Looking at these photos reminds me of how badly I have to dye my hair. The roots are coming in and I really want to go a strawberry blonde and then get my bangs cut for fall. I want to get it dyed professionally but it costs a lot of moola! Perhaps I will wait until I get paid or maybe buy the ten dollar hair dye if I am desperate. Anyways I am off to a family barbecue! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend!
